Dressing Bridesmaids and Flower Girls

Last time we talked dresses, my Mom had found a dress, but 5 out of 6 bridesmaids and our Flower Girl were still dressless!

While we were at Alfred Angelo with my Mom, BM Niece and BM Momma decided to take the opportunity to try on bridesmaid dresses.

T25 STAT-urday: Week 6

Ok, a MUCH better week this week for me - how did you guys do??

I'm still mixing up my workouts a bit as the weather gets better with a run with the dogs here and there and a long romp in the park on Saturdays or Sundays with them instead of the Stretch DVD.  I kind of feel like that one is pointless - anyone else?

Doeblerghini Bunch: Swearing for the Wedding - Don't Compare

I so need this inspiration this week.  I get hung up a lot on comparing myself to this gorgeous girl who works in my office.  I need to take a step back and realize how far I've come and be proud of that, not try to achieve an impossible goal.

On that note, check out the updated stats!

Weight: 125lbs - YEAAAH!!
Chest: 36in
Waist: 24.5in
Hips: 36in  (I don't know if my booty will ever get smaller...)
Thighs: 20.25in (the same as last week, but they are looking way more toned)
Arms: 11in

Talk to me guys, how'd you do this week?  Are you getting closer to your goal(s)?

Dressing the Mother of the Bride

I’ve been lucky enough to spend the last two weekends with my favorite ladies.  So basically that means, I’ve spent two weekends laughing, telling stories, catching up, drinking large amounts of Grande Peppermint Mocha’s and most importantly - shopping!

First on my agenda was finding my Mom a dress to wear to the wedding.  She’s been stressing about it since pretty much the day Dude and I got engaged and considering it can take 3 or 4 months for dresses to come in, I figured it was time to get it done!

Before we went, she already had a pretty good idea of what she wanted – short, with sleeves or a jacket, in a jewel-toned color.

To give you an idea how the day went – here’s the first outfit she tried on at a shop called Clarissa’s near Harrisburg.

We called it chainmail, but honestly, I don’t know what it was made out of or who the heck would wear it.

Doeblerghini Bunch: MOB Dresses - Chainmail

The only other dress my Mom tried on in this shop was this one and she loved it!  She actually put it on hold before we left because she was sure she was going to come back and buy it that afternoon.

Doeblerghini Bunch: MOB Dresses - Blue Silk with Jacket

Our next stop was Alfred Angelo, where, no joke, we camped out for like 4 hours while my Mom tried on at least 15 dresses.

They ranged from too old:

Doeblerghini Bunch: MOB Dresses - Old Lady

To too young:

Doeblerghini Bunch: MOB Dresses - Chacha Hi Lo Dress

Then she tried on a dress she loved.

Doeblerghini Bunch: MOB Dresses - Black Lace Satin

But she hated the color.  So our amazing consultant, Trish, tried to show her the other color the dress came in by combining two dresses.

Doeblerghini Bunch: MOB Dresses - Combining Dresses

Outside:  Style 6493
Inside:  Style 9003

Here was the final result.

Doeblerghini Bunch: MOB Dresses - Final Combination

She still wasn’t a fan of the black lace at the top, so she tried on a couple more.
This was the final one she tried on and loved.  And believe it or not, it didn’t check off anything on her must-have list!  It was long, grey, and strapless!

In the picture below our (again, amazing) stylist is trying to show my Mom what the dress would look like if she turned the sash into sleeves.

Not sure what my Mom is saying in the pic though!!

Doeblerghini Bunch: MOB Dresses - Grey Ruffled Bottom

But in the end, we left empty-handed because my Mom just wasn’t sure if it was “the one.”

Our last stop was at an independent shop I can’t remember the name of, but after a few duds, Mom found this one.

Doeblerghini Bunch: MOB Dresses - Short Blue
If you can’t tell by the smile on her face, this is her dress!  They offered to make her a custom bolero-type jacket out of dress’ fabric and she was instantly sold.

The dress is actually a really pretty seafoam color, not the baby blue it looks like in the picture.

She ordered the dress before we left and that was that.  We’ll be able to see it in person in 10-12 weeks and hopefully that will be enough time to alter it to her tiny little frame!

Processing and Recessing

It’s getting down to crunch time for me and Dude so we’re starting to get the little details of the wedding in order.

Most recently, we’ve been working on music and that kind of goes hand-in-hand with the ceremony processional, recessional and reception entrance.

My Mom mentioned early in the wedding process that she would like to escort me down the aisle with my Dad.  Considering this has been the only real request she’s made for the wedding (other than “no dancing down the aisle!”), I couldn’t really say no.

Ok, so I knew who I was walking down the aisle with; and I figured the rest would kind of just fall into place.

Stupid me.

I had NO idea there were so many options for processionals!!

T25 STAT-urday: Week 5

Well guys, I'm sorry to admit it, but this was not a great T25 week for me.  I missed working out on Tuesday, which snowballed into Thursday and Friday.  And now I'm in Red Lion going Mother of the Bride dress shopping with my Mom and I didn't even attempt to bring the DVDs with me.

The only positive is that every day this week, even the days I didn't do T25, I still got out with the dogs; and I'm not deviating from clean eating.

It's hard, especially right now with my Mom trying to tempt me with her baking and other delicious treats!!

But this week's inspiration rings so, so true for me.

Doeblerghini Bunch: A body in motion wants to stay in motion, a body at rest seeks more rest

Hopefully next week will be better.

My stats were basically stagnat this week.

Weight: 126.5lbs
Chest: 36in
Waist: 24.75in
Hips: 36in
Thighs: 20.25in
Arms: 11in

How did you guys do?

Table Accessories

Ugh…centerpieces, the bane of my existence.

Here’s the good news – the reception package we chose at The Atrium provides centerpieces for our tables.

The bad news?  They are…not my style, let’s put it that way.

So I’ve been debating back and forth whether I should suck it up and use The Atrium’s centerpieces since they’re free (who notices centerpieces, anyway??) or if I should spend the extra money and either DIY the centerpieces or have our florist handle them.

Crafting and Couponing

It seems like as we start inching closer to August, I’m spending more and more time at the craft stores in my area.  In fact, I ‘m pretty sure last week I saw the one cashier at JoAnn’s – shout out to Ashley! – more than I saw Dude!

And as any good wedding DIY-er knows, you never leave home without a coupon!

A few weeks ago, my entire world was rocked when I found out you can use more than one coupon in a transaction at JoAnn’s (thanks again Ashley!).  Since then, I’ve been researching coupon policies and emailing the stores in my area to see what coupons they’ll take and what they won’t.

Since I was rounding up all this information, I figured why not put it all into one easy to reference post and hopefully help other brides (or crafters!) save money and headaches.

Please note that I’ve only had in-person experience with the craft store trifecta:  JoAnn’s, Michael’s and Hobby Lobby.  I researched Pat Catan’s and A.C. Moore to make this post more well rounded and because I know both have locations in PA; but since we don’t have either of those stores in our area, I can’t say for sure the policies I’ve found are enforced.

Doeblerghini Bunch: JoAnn Fabric's Logo
Alright, we’re starting off with my favorite crafting store and the one with the most generous coupon policy.

Competitor’s Coupons
Yes - Hancock Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s

Multiple Coupons
Yes - One coupon per item in the transaction – this means that if you have a 20% of your entire purchase, it will only apply to items that do not already have a coupon applied to them.

Each coupon’s barcode must be different.  This isn’t too hard, the paper coupons typically have a different barcode than the ones through the app, which are different than the ones available online or via text.

Will only accept competitor’s coupons for items they sell.  Meaning you couldn’t buy fabric at Joann’s and use a Michael’s coupon on it since Michael’s doesn’t sell fabric.

Coupons typically do not apply to any merchandise on sale

Price Matching
Will price match from a current competitor’s ad if they stock the exact same item

Doeblerghini Bunch: Michael's Logo
Competitor’s Coupons
Yes - all competitors’ coupons (A.C. Moore, Hancock Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, JoAnns, etc.)

Multiple Coupons
One coupon type per day

Can stack coupons as long as they are different.  For example, you could use a 20% off a single item Michael’s coupon and a 40% off single item Michael’s coupon in the same transaction as long as you have at least two items.

Each coupon’s barcode must be unique

Will not accept competitor’s coupons for a percentage off your entire purchase

Coupons do not typically apply to any merchandise on sale

Price Matching
Will price match from a current competitor’s ad if they stock the exact same item

Doeblerghini Bunch: AC Moore's Logo

A.C. Moore  (No coupon policy posted online - call your local store before heading out!)
Competitor’s Coupons
Yes - Hobby Lobby, JoAnns, Michael’s

Multiple Coupons
No - only one coupon per transaction

Will only accept one store’s coupon per day (for example, even if you break up your purchase into more than one transaction, you cannot use 2 A.C. Moore/JoAnn’s/etc. coupons in a single day)

Will not accept competitor’s coupons for a percentage off your entire purchase

Price Matching
Will price match from a current competitor’s ad if they stock the exact same item

Doeblerghini Bunch: Hobby Lobby Logo
Competitor’s Coupons

Multiple Coupons
No - one coupon per transaction per day

Coupons do not typically apply to sale merchandise

Price Matching
Will price match from a current competitor’s ad if they stock the exact same item

Doeblerghini Bunch: Pat Catan's Logo

Pat Catan’s (They also do not have a coupon policy posted online – call ahead to your store)
Competitor’s Coupons

Multiple Coupons
No official policy, but they do not typically offer coupons and they don’t accept competitor’s so this situation actually being applicable is doubtful

See above

Will price match from a current competitor’s ad if they stock the exact same item

T25 STAT-urday Week 4

Hot damn!  Can you believe it's been a month already?!?  I'm kind of falling into a routine where I get home from work and then work out immediately, otherwise I lose my motivation.  Once that's over with, I can go about my business.

But, I'm not going to lie, it's been SO nice here the past couple of days that I've been taking the pups out for a run in lieu of T25 and I kind of love the variety.  Do you guys ever get that way, or is it just me?  Sometimes I just need the fresh air!

Either way, I didn't see much movement on the scale this week; but that's ok, because my waist AND thighs are officially down 1/4 inch!  YES!!!

Doeblerghini Bunch: Disciline means doing what needs to be done, even when you don't want to

Here are my updated stats:

Weight: 126.5lbs
Chest: 36in
Waist: 24.75in
Hips: 36in
Thighs: 20.25in
Arms: 11in  (ugh I want this number to go down!!)

If you're following along with T25, how are things going for you?  Any scale movement?  Are you excited to start Beta in two weeks?

Custom Totes for the Youngins!

I mentioned in my Gifts post that I was planning on making some custom totes for RB Nephew and FG Niece.

Not going to lie, this was one of those projects that I was planning on putting off forever and then probably end up buying the totes off Etsy a couple weeks before the wedding.

But while I was looking through my crafting stash for paint for my Here Comes Your Girl signs, I came across two rumpled tote bags that I knew would be perfect.  One even had pink edging – perfect for FG Niece!

So on a whim, I decided to customize them and get that project out of the way and I was blown away by how easy it was.  It took me less than one episode of House of Cards (I know I’m behind, but can we discuss Season 2, Ep 1 please! Holy crap!) to complete the two bags.

So if you want to make your own custom tote bags, follow along!

Top of the Cake to You!

Please forgive the terrible pun in the title...  I couldn't think of anything creative so I just gave up and went with a Seinfeld/St. Patty's Day mashup.

So anyways, me and Dude's custom cake topped arrived yesterday and I am absolutely, completely in LOVE!
Dude...well...he said: "I'm a guy.  It's a cake topper.  Again, I'm a guy.  It is pretty cute though."
I know there are about eleventy billion cake topper options out there, ranging from traditional...
Doeblerghini Bunch: Traditional Dancing Cake Topper
To funny...

Doeblerghini Bunch: Funny Butt Pinch Cake Topper
To sweet...

Doeblerghini Bunch: Sweet Cake Topper
To modern...
Doeblerghini Bunch: We Do Wire Cake Topper
To nerdy...
Doeblerghini Bunch: Tardis Cake Topper
or this one!
Doeblerghini Bunch: Peg Link and Zelda Cake Topper
To totally off-the-wall and awesome...

Doeblerghini Bunch: Zombie Fighter Cake Topper
But one day I was browsing Etsy and came across Cynthia's shop - Top of the Cake.  Needless to say, I was sold immediately and all other cake topper options flew out the window.  She makes these adorable, whimsical, clay animal cake toppers.  Check it out - she does dinosaurs, alligators, sea turtles and so much more.  And she also does custom work, which is what we ordered!
Now, knowing us (or at least virtual us), our engagement shoot, and our love for the two furry babies in our lives...can you guess what our cake topper is??
Doeblerghini Bunch: Pepper and Zeke Clay Cake Topper
Sorry for the caps, it's just that they're so darn cute my fingers can't help but shout!
And to show you how detailed her work is, check out the side-by-side of our dogs in real life and in clay.
Doeblerghini Bunch: Real Life/Topper Comparison
Pretty amazing, right?  I was blown away that she caught little details like the diamond on top of Zeke's head and Pepper's white eyebrows.
Now, I'm not going to lie, this cake topper was a big ol' splurge - a $75 splurge.  Yikes!  But honestly, I think it is such a perfect way to include the dogs in our wedding without going overboard and having our guests think we're crazy dog people.
Although, let's be real, we ARE crazy dog people, aren't we??
Either way, I have plans to turn it into a Christmas ornament after the wedding, so hopefully our adorable clay puppies will see years of use, instead of just one day.
Now it's your turn - what does your cake topper look like?  Did any of you splurge on something silly (but totally worth it) like this?

T25 STAT-urday: Week 3

YESS I am back on track this week and down one pound!  It may also be completely in my head, but I think I am starting to see the start of some abs!  I know for sure I can see some definition that wasn't there before!  Awesomesauce!

Doeblerghini Bunch: Punch that Laziness in the face

Anyone else think of The Hangover when they hear/read the words "in the face"?

Here are my updated stats.  I'm definitely seeing some small changes in my other measurements, which I'll post once I get down a half inch or so!  Fingers crossed for soon!

Weight: 127lbs
Chest: 36in
Waist: 25in
Hips: 36in
Thighs: 20.5in
Arms: 11in

How did you guys do this week?  If you're following T25, are you seeing results?

Wedding Signage Part 1

Like everyone else in the wedding planning world, I’ve got a whole list of signs I want to create/buy to place around our wedding venue.

I’ve actually got an entire Wedding Signage section on our massive To-Do list.

Doeblerghini Bunch: Screenshot of To-Do List
Over the weekend, I was able to bang out a couple of these guys and I’m so happy with how they turned out!

First up, remember our Save the Date chalkboard signs?

Doeblerghini Bunch: Old Save the Date Signs

I was able to refinish and re-purpose them into these Come By… Say Hi! signs.

Doeblerghini Bunch: Come By Say Hi Signs

My plan is to have two empty chairs across from us at our sweetheart table.   I’ll hang the signs on the backs of the chairs and hopefully people will be able to come by and chat with us while we’re eating.  Be honest you think anyone will take advantage of this??

My second check off the to-do list was actually for two signs - Since I first started wedding planning, I’ve been obsessed with those Here Comes Your Girl signs all over Pinterest.

Doeblerghini Bunch: Here Comes Your Girl Inspiration Pic

My thrifty self sure as hell wasn’t going to pay $60 for a sign that will be used exactly one time, so I bought a couple of $5 plaques from Michael’s  - with 40% off coupons, of course!  Then I came home and raided my craft supply and found a giant white Sharpie pen and some orange craft paint.  Perfect!

We’ve been planning on having our Ring Bearer and Flower Girl walk down together, so I figure they’ll each get to hold one sign and Michael Will will be able to capture 2x the cuteness at once!

Doeblerghini Bunch: Here Comes Your Girl Signs

I kind of hated the idea of hanging the signs around their neck, so I bought four of the cheapest cabinet handles I could find (roughly $1/each) and glued them to the back with Gorilla Glue.

Hopefully that will make them easier for RB Nephew and FG Niece to hold and carry down the aisle.

Doeblerghini Bunch: Here Comes Your Girl Signs Back

I’m so pleased with how they turned out and I’m even more excited to cross these things off the To-Do list!  Isn’t it gratifying to actually be able to cross something off your to-do list?  Some weeks it feels like I’m constantly adding stuff and never checking anything off!

Stay tuned for updates on our wedding signage – I’m currently working on the Seat/Not a Side sign and our Instagram hashtag sign.

Anyone else there making a bunch of singage for their wedding?  How are your signs coming?  More importantly, what have you checked off your giant to-do list recently?

Making my Dad Cry

I mentioned in my Parental Gifts post that I wanted to make a tie patch for my Dad and yesterday I was actually able to finish it!

Because I think this is an awesome personal touch for Fathers of the Bride since they are kind of forgotten before and after the father/daughter dance – I’m going to share how I made my patch and pass on the pattern I created so you guys can make them too!

I created two versions of the pattern – one JPEG that can be printed as-is, and a word document with a text box that allows you to change the date to your wedding date.  If you need them - the fonts I used were Grand Hotel and Always Forever.

Before we get started, I’ve got to apologize for the lack of consistency in these tutorial photos.  Some I took when I was making a practice patch and the others I while I was sewing the real deal.

Now that that’s out of the way - let’s get started!

T25 STAT-urday: Week 2

I debated about skipping STAT-urday this week because I knew it would be bad.  I had a .5lb setback this week and I blame it completely on these bad oscars:

Doeblerghini Bunch: STAT-urday Crispy Oreos

Ok, and also on my willpower.  I am a sucker for a Golden Oreo dunked in milk; and these are even awesome-er than a normal Golden Oreo because they have little krispies in the creme!!
Oh God, I'm starting to crave them again...  Let me snap myself out of that by passing on my weekly stats.
Weight: 128lbs (BOO!)
Chest: 36in
Waist: 25in
Hips: 36in
Thighs: 20.5in
Arms: 11in

I have noticed that I feel a little more toned in my upper thighs and waist, but I've just had millimeters of change there.

But I just keep repeating this mantra to myself and flipping on that DVD every night after work.
Doeblerghini Bunch: Don't stop trying because you've hit a wall, progress is progress no matter how small

How did your weeks go?  Any big changes?  Anyone else make the mistake of picking up a pack of Oreos at the grocery store?
